Zombie – Jamming with my sons.

Jamming with my sons during the weekend. I used to like this song when they used to telecast it on MTV, presented by Indian VJs. A one hour evening show every day of retro English songs.

“Zombie” is a protest song by Irish alternative rock band, The Cranberries. The song was written by the band’s lead singer Dolores O’Riordan in memory of the two young victims who were killed in the 1993 Warrington bombings, Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry. It was released on 19 September 1994 as the lead single from their second studio album, No Need to Argue, two weeks ahead of the album’s release. Music critics have long recognised “Zombie” as “a masterpiece of alternative rock”. -Extract from Wikipedia

Country Roads, One of our family songs.

I learnt this song while I was in school. During the music period, all the students were taken to the auditorium and at the wings of the stage, there used to be a grand piano where our music teacher Mr Fernandez taught us songs. I still remember a few English songs, Country Roads and a couple of songs from Sound of Music. At home, everybody loves the tune and has become like a family song. It is nostalgic to sing this song and here it is after I learnt the guitar chords.
